Purple Credits
Matthew was born and grew up in North London. Whilst still at school, he was involved with many local
political and community events and volunteered for Sense; The National Deaf, Blind and
Rubella Association, helping to organise holidays for deaf blind children. During his gap
year before attending university, he volunteered for Amnesty International, an organisation
that has remained close to his heart ever since. He went on to work full time for Amnesty
International, culminating in serving two terms as a member of the Board.
His early interest in appearing in film and television came from seeing the strutting
walk of one of the TIE Fighter pilots in Star Wars: Episode IV. A New Hope . Happily,
his ambition has grown to include appearing in roles where some acting is required
(instead of just a funny walk) and his work has included thrillers, comedy, drama and musicals.
He attended the London Academy of Media Film and Television where he learned many of
the fundamental skills of the trade as well as having a jolly good time.
Having appeared in a number of advertisements (Marriott Hotels, Sky Sports, Abbey etc)
and pop promos (Rachel Stephens, Bryan McFadden) he has moved on to roles on stage, film and television.
On stage he has played roles as diverse as a Teddy Boy nightclub owner
(A Slice of Saturday Night ), a fire and brimstone priest (Once a Catholic ),
a Scouse hairdresser (Our Jackie's Weddin' ) and an evil mediaeval lord (Something Wicked).
He has appeared in Sky One's successful drama series' Dream Team and Mile High ,and in
ITV One's 2005 Christmas Special Can't Be Me Love with Martin Kemp and Michelle Collins.
He had a small part in the movie Green Street , starring Elijah Wood and recently appeared
as Martin Lennox in the movie Visions due for release later this year.
